One week to go!

Well, we have one week until we leave foggy and cold England to travel to Oz. Sarah, my wife, and I are busy packing and sorting - so much rubbish to sort out. I finished work yesterday and it was sad, with lots of pupils and staff giving me presents and wishing me luck. I really enjoy work at Bassingbourn Primary - I will miss it but will be back in a year. It felt quite surreal leaving yesterday as I'll be back, hopefully full of interesting and enjoyable experiences. In the evening there was a staff do in Cambridge. The starters were good then there was a power cut and we left after about an hour with no food forthcoming. A few of us, including my headteacher, Jane, went to get a cheap bite to eat at Nandos. Then Sarah and I went to Regal for a pint or two. A bit of an anti climax to it all. Wonder what pubs and retaurants will be like inAustralia? I don't start work until end of January so will have plenty of time to find out! We want to explore and travel.

He's gone!!!

Boxing Day saw Bruce and Sheila (Leon & Sarah) pop into the Bar Hill social club for a last pint (or three) of real ale - Leon now becomes a real man, a lager drinker.

Also there were Paul and Barry Chuckle, my bird and the Reverend Chunderstone.

Despite the monumental event of a key Raw Meat footballer leaving these shores, the Chuckle Brothers again avoided buying crisps - maybe you two can bring back some Kangaroo or Koala flavour crisps for us?

By the time you get to Melbourne the cricket will have probably finished but hope you have a great start to life down under and look forward to seeing pictures and more blogs about Aussie life.

Lindaj says- Hi Leon and Sarah
Sounds like you are settling into Aussie life. If this reaches you it will an amazing feat for me Leon, as you know I am not known for my IT skills. Leesa seems lovely and I have said that me, Hazel and others will take her into Cambridge soon for lunch and girlie shop! Sam has been receiving repeated texts from his Aussie mate about the cricket! I wonder why! School is up and running and the staff room seems quiet without you. Enjoy your time off before you start teaching.
Love to Sarah.
